Estrela Mountain Dogs are generally a healthy, hardy breed but there are some health problems that are more common than others. The three most common health problems for any breed of dog are; dental disease, ear infections and obesity. For Estrelas specifically they are: hip dysplasia, cruciate ligament rupture with ear infections and skin problems such as wet eczema, joint third.
